A legal disclaimer
We offer private psychoeducational intervention for individuals or groups. We are bound by the rules and ethical codes of conduct of our professional organisations such as the British Psychological Society.
When a self-referral for treatment is received, we offer an initial assessment session. This enables us to discuss problems in detail and then consider the most appropriate type of intervention, as well as the expected number of sessions.
By agreeing to meet for a first assessment session, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

All the work that we do together will be based on consent and confidentiality. The only exceptions to this would be:
a) if your case was discussed in a supervision session. A supervision session is a meeting where we discuss our work in order to ensure that you get the best possible care.Your name will never be mentioned. Regular supervision is a requirement of the British Psychological Society.
b) In a rare situation where we believe that you or others may be at risk of serious harm.We would then have a duty to inform your doctor or the relevant authorities.
2. The charge for initial assessment and routine sessions (usually 1 hour) is £80 per hour. Payment is expected at the beginning of each session, by cash or bank transfer.
a) with more than 24 hours' notice will not incur a charge
b) with less than 24 hours' notice: 50% of the fee
c) non-attendance without notice: 100% of the fee.
4. We will keep brief notes about our sessions. You have the right to see what is written in these notes if you wish. Please ask us if you would like to do so.
5. We are not able to offer a crisis management service. In the event of a crisis arising, please contact your General Practitioner (GP). You can call NHS 111 and select the mental health option 24 hrs per day if you need immediate support.
6. We will keep copies of notes and reports in accordance with national and professional guidance which is currently seven years.
The services provided are of educational nature and are not a substitute for therapy, medical advice, or dietitian's advice. While our sessions may support emotional wellbeing and a positive relationship with food, they do not constitute psychological therapy or treatment.
